HT Associates is a growing, innovative architectural and engineering design firm specializing in residential and commercial projects across the U.S. East Coast. Our approach emphasizes creativity, efficiency, and professionalism. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Architectural Designer with experience in commercial and retail projects to join our expanding team.

Job Summary:

The Architectural Designer will work closely with our design team to develop schematic designs, prepare comprehensive construction document sets, and coordinate with expeditors, consultants, and building departments. This role is on-site based, with occasional site visits as needed. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in commercial/retail architecture, be familiar with MEP coordination, and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and accountability.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop schematic design proposals and layout studies for commercial and retail projects.
  2. Prepare full sets of construction documents, including plans, sections, and details.
  3. Coordinate architectural drawings with MEP and structural consultants.
  4. Assist with permit application submissions through expeditors and building departments.
  5. Conduct site visits and field measurements when necessary.
  6. Maintain clear and organized project documentation.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in an architectural office, with proven experience in commercial/retail projects.
  3. Strong knowledge of MEP systems and how they integrate with architectural design.
  4. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit, Rhino, Enscape, Lumion, and Adobe Suite is preferred.
  5. Highly detail-oriented, responsible, and self-motivated.
  6. Strong communication and coordination skills.
