Business Development Manager - Freight Forwarder Industry Experience is Required Location Portland, OR (Cully area) : A global freight forwarding company from Asia is looking for a new member for their Sales Department. This position is the New Business Development Manager position. ( This is not associate level position. You will fail if you do not have any background in international freight forwarding business). We are looking for someone who can do both Account Management and New Business Development in Washington State and Oregon State. The sales team is trying to expand their business to not only Asian companies, but US and European corporations as well. We are looking for someone who speak English fluently. (You will take assessment test for English). You can be a resident of Washington or Oregon State for this position since the company has offices in the both states. Please note that this position require you to have previous business development experience in the freight forwarder industry . We are not interested in anyone who does not have minimum of 5 years of experience and connection in freight forwarding . A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or International Business is needed. Responsibilities for New Business Development Manager Position: Generate new business through cold calling. Build and maintain a customer base by recognizing freight forwarding business opportunities. Offer solutions through freight forwarding services including international import and export (ocean/air), warehousing, cargo insurance and customs brokerage. Achieve monthly sales quotas set by the sales management team. Utilize to track client's key information, build and maintain sales pipeline, and measure KPIs. Work closely with the sales support team by reviewing quotes to ensure the client's needs are met. Meet with current and potential clients within assigned territory (Oregon and Washington) Maintain consistent communication with other departments and overseas agent. Monitor international freight forwarding market trends and conditions. Qualifications for New Business Development Manager Position: ~ Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management, International Business, etc....is huge plus. ~ Minimum of 5 years Sales role in Logistics / Freight forwarding Industry ~ Minimum of 5 years international logistics coordinator experience (Ocean and Air cargos) ~ Ambitious and outgoing individuals who are interested in building an outside sales career within the freight forwarding logistics industry. We are looking for someone who actively seeks new clients. ~ Ability to build relationships while cold calling and be confident in presenting information to prospective customers on the company's shipping services during face-to-face meetings. ~5 years of previous experience in the freight forwarder / logistics industry. ~ Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence decision-making processes. ~ Excellent communication skills in English.
