Job Description

Title: QC/QA Technician

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000

Location: Houston, Texas

Position Summary:

The QC/QA Technician provides technical and quality assurance support to the U.S. business unit, including document verification, regulatory compliance, internal audits, customer interaction, and support for documentation and reporting processes.

Duties:

  • Monitor and support compliance with FDA and other regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with Commercial and Logistics teams to resolve customer complaints and quality issues.
  • Review and verify COAs/BOLs and terminal instructions; audit and maintain post-loading documentation (e.g., WONA Score Card).
  • Complete customer questionnaires in coordination with the Supply Chain Manager and QA Supervisor.
  • Document and report on product/service quality levels.
  • Develop inspection standards and product inspection workflows.
  • Create plans to reduce waste and improve process efficiency.
  • Support error resolution and communicate findings to the appropriate teams.
  • Train QA team members on inspection processes.
  • Collaborate across departments to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required: HACCP experience.
  • Preferred: FDA, Food Safety, FSVP Compliance; customer complaint resolution; quality audits.
  • Additional Plus: Experience in Cosmetics (MoCRA), USDA/Animal Feed, or Pharma regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • High dependability, organization, and time management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality standards and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with English language rules and composition.
  • Technologically adept; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Requirements:

  • Mathematical proficiency with ratios, percentages, and graph interpretation.
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving ability for technical and abstract challenges.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

Certifications:

  • FSVP, PCQI, and HACCP certified.
