Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a former admissions officer from a top 30 university to join our team as a College Admissions Consultant . In this role, you will leverage your insider admissions expertise to help students craft competitive applications, refine their personal narratives, and navigate the complexities of the college admissions process with confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on college application strategy, including school selection, essay development, and interview preparation.
  • Review and evaluate students’ applications, offering professional insights to enhance competitiveness.
  • Conduct mock admissions interviews and provide actionable feedback on students’ presentation skills.
  • Advise students on how to strengthen their academic profiles, extracurricular activities, and leadership experiences.
  • Lead workshops and webinars on college admissions topics for students and parents.
  • Work closely with students and families to manage expectations and reduce stress during the application process.
  • Stay up to date on evolving college admissions trends and policies to provide informed guidance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Former admissions officer at a top 30 university with direct experience evaluating applications .
  • Deep understanding of the holistic admissions process at selective colleges.
  • Strong ability to provide strategic, high-level feedback on college applications and essays.
  • Passion for mentoring and coaching students through academic and personal challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students and parents.
  • Comfortable leading workshops, webinars, and one-on-one consultations.

Performance Milestones & Success Roadmap:

First 60 Days:

  • Become fully acquainted with PathIvy’s counseling approach, resources, and student support systems.
  • Begin working with students, evaluating their academic and extracurricular profiles, and developing personalized admissions strategies.
  • Conduct initial mock interviews and essay reviews, providing targeted feedback to strengthen student applications.
  • Establish strong relationships with students and families through regular, effective communication.
  • Lead at least one webinar or workshop on a key admissions topic.

First 6 Months:

  • Successfully guide multiple students through key admissions milestones, including finalizing school lists, refining essays, and completing applications.
  • Conduct numerous mock interviews, helping students improve confidence and presentation skills.
  • Receive positive feedback from students and families on the quality of admissions guidance.
  • Stay up to date on admissions trends and policies, integrating new insights into counseling strategies.
  • Contribute to PathIvy’s thought leadership by developing educational content or presenting at events.

First 12 Months:

  • Demonstrate a strong track record of students gaining admission to their top-choice universities, including highly selective institutions.
  • Establish a reputation as a trusted, go-to consultant within PathIvy, with high student and parent satisfaction.
  • Provide expert insights that help refine and enhance PathIvy’s admissions counseling strategies.
  • Mentor new counselors and contribute to the professional development of the team.
  • Expand PathIvy’s impact by helping high-achieving students secure scholarships, honors program acceptances, or specialized academic opportunities.
