This is a critical leadership role for a visionary professional ready to drive efficiency, strategy, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Logistics to lead and manage all logistics and warehouse operations for our U.S.-based food manufacturing facilities. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods across multiple sites. The successful candidate will oversee internal warehouses, third-party logistics providers, and transportation functions, while designing future-ready logistics strategies to support continued growth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Leadership

  • Lead daily operations across internal warehouse facilities, ensuring service levels, quality standards, and productivity expectations are consistently met.
  • Manage staffing plans, shift coverage, and labor planning to align with demand fluctuations.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, space optimization, slotting, and material flow improvements.
  • Enforce safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all facilities.
  • Oversee receiving, storage (including freezer environments), staging, and outbound order fulfillment.
  • Collaborate with planning and procurement teams to align capacity forecasts with labor and space requirements.

Logistics & Transportation Management

  • Manage inbound/outbound freight logistics for raw materials and finished goods across four production facilities.
  • Lead relationships and performance management with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
  • Oversee internal fleet operations, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Coordinate international shipments and container movements, including drayage and warehouse transfers.

Process Improvement & Strategy

  • Design and implement a comprehensive distribution strategy integrating four operating locations and international logistics.
  • Develop and track KPIs for warehouse efficiency, on-time deliveries, order accuracy, and labor utilization.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and service enhancement.

Systems & Collaboration

  • Support interim inventory and planning tools while preparing for ERP implementation.
  • Serve as a logistics lead in ERP selection and rollout processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments—production, sales, customer service—to resolve service issues and support fulfillment excellence.

Financial Management & Compliance

  • Develop and manage departmental budgets; achieve performance and savings targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with DOT requirements, including documentation, inspections, and safety reviews.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain or logistics leadership experience, ideally in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record in logistics operations, warehouse leadership, and team development.

  • Proficient in MS Office; ERP system experience required (implementation experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel regularly between New Jersey and Long Island locations.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Frequent standing, lifting (up to 25 lbs), bending, and use of arms/hands in warehouse settings.
  • Extended periods of desk/computer work.
  • Must be able to climb ladders/scaffolding and have visual acuity for safety-sensitive tasks.
  • Work takes place in both office and production environments.
  • Noise level: Quiet to Moderate

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
