Job Description

LHH is partnering with a well-established consulting firm in the Washington, DC area looking to find an HR Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in human resources and be eager to contribute to a fast-paced team. This role is primarily remote with the occasional need to report onsite for meetings and events and offers an immediate start. The hourly pay rate is between $23-$27 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Process pre-hire employment checks and manage new hire onboarding, including orientation, paperwork, and creating HR files.
  • Assist with I-9 verification projects.
  • Manage calendars for training programs.
  • Support the team with invoice tracking, incoming mail, and data entry for invoices.
  • Address employee inquiries related to benefits, payroll, policies, and other HR matters.
  • Assist with job postings, resume screening, and interview scheduling.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-2 years of prior HR experience
  • 1-2 years of administrative support experience
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks under deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
