Start Date: August 4, 2025

Estimated End Date: November 1, 2025

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Hours: 37.5 hours per week | 7.5 hours per day

Position Summary:

Atlantic Health System is seeking an Authorization Specialist to join our team at the Morristown corporate office. This role is responsible for completing the full financial clearance process for upcoming scheduled patient visits, including insurance verification, pre-registration, and obtaining pre-service authorizations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform insurance verification and pre-registration for scheduled patient services
• Submit authorization requests to payers, including appropriate clinical documentation
• Follow up with payers to ensure timely authorization determinations
• Escalate pending or delayed authorizations to secure pre-service approval
• Utilize insurance portals for verification and status updates

Qualifications:

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in hospital-based authorization verification
• Familiarity with patient registration, insurance verification, and precertification processes
• Proficient in using insurance portals and electronic systems
