The Intake Specialist is responsible for taking all new client calls, conducting phone interviews of potential clients regarding their appropriateness for services, and scheduling new clients according to client needs. The Intake Specialist is also responsible for verifying benefits and following up with clients once benefits have been verified (if necessary), and completing financial assessments with clients for those who qualify for financial assistance. The Intake Specialist will also be expected to handle various types of intakes to support all agency programs, verify insurance benefits, and work with a variety of software programs. This position will be evaluated annually. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

This position is hybrid. On-site work is required two days per week.

High School Graduate required, Bachelor’s Degree in the health and human services field preferred

None required, LSW preferred

1-3 years of previous experience working in a medical setting, previous office and computerized billing experience, previous experience working with the mental health population

The ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment and with a high degree of organization.

The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand both in-person and virtually. Ability to sit and/or remain stationary for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds.

  • Take all new client calls and schedule with the appropriate therapist based on need, preference, and insurance
  • Maintain a calm, kind demeanor with clients in person and on the phone.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained in various aspects of administrative support.
  • High degree of accuracy.

: 40 hours per workweek (Monday-Friday). Not to exceed 40 hours per week without supervisory approval.

: The primary work location for this position is the Mill Run location. This role requires 40% in-office/authorized location presence, with authorization for up to 60% of hours from a remote work location if all aspects of the position description are being consistently fulfilled. Additional remote hours beyond the defined threshold require supervisory approval on a case-by-case basis.
