To assist in the data analysis of large data research under the direction of Professor Molly King Department of Sociology.
1. Assist in the research and analysis of massive bibliometrics data under supervisors guidance.
Use data science to develop and implement measures and generate plots and figures
Use and modify coding scripts to process large data sets (R programming language) to conduct data analysis of large-scale bibliometrics data.
Use multivariate statistics to study collaborative positioning in global co-authorship networks over time.
2. Assist with dissemination and publication of research findings under supervisors guidance.
Collaborate with the research team to publish research findings in reputable academic journals and present research outcomes at conferences and on campus.
Contribute to the preparation of the annual grant progress report and outcomes.
3. Provide writing support
Conduct searches of the scientific literature at the request of the supervisor and summarize findings including posting articles to online repositories.
Prepare bibliographies for and proofread grant proposals and research articles produced by the supervisor.
4. Other duties as assigned.

3. Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
4. Prepares progress reports informs supervisor of project status and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness accuracy and timeliness of all project goals.
5. Prepares and submits written or oral reports as requested and required.
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The items below are representative of the knowledge skills abilities education and experience required or preferred.
Basic understanding of the following: statistics matrix algebra for network analysis and social network analysis.
Familiarity with citation analysis including the collection of data from bibliometric sources assessment of collaborative patterns and dynamics use of large-scale datasets for the construction of citation statistics (i.e. Scopus Web of Science etc) and knowledge of and familiarity with the use of backward and forward citation statistics.
Excellent programming skills and advanced familiarity with coding in Python and/or R: writing and editing scripts for data processing and analysis
Searching and critical reading of the scientific literature.
Basic scientific writing.
Experience with exploratory data analysis: feature extraction visualization etc.
Work independently.
Work cooperatively as part of a research team including regular progress reports to supervisor and other members of the team.
Keep detailed records of work in shared Google Drive
Understand and follow ethical research practices
Effectively establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment.
Bachelors degree in statistics sociology computational social science or other relevant discipline
Two years of relevant experience
