We want your knowledge and expertise! **Job Summary and Qualifications** **Physical Therapy Technician** **Director of Physical Therapy** **Non-Exempt, hourly** Position Summary: To assist the therapists in carrying out patient related procedures, as well as assist department with duties assigned by supervisor to help with clinic efficiency and productivity. In addition, assist Director in supervisory duties regarding other PT Techs, supplies and schedules. **Responsibilities:** **Administrative & Clinical** - Assist in the preparation of charts as necessary to initiate daily patient care. - Filing of patient care materials according to established policies and procedures. - Assist in scheduling patients in the most efficient manner possible. Schedules according to established policies and procedures. - Assist in chart reviews and general chart compliance while handling chart during patient care and during administrative functions. - Ensures compliance at all times with the HIPAA - Assists patients in preparation as necessary during and at the conclusion of treatment. - Gets patients back to the gym or treatment room (as appropriate) promptly. - Contacts therapist or trainer promptly when patient is ready to begin his/her treatment. - Makes sure patient is in constant attendance and his/her treatment plan is completed smoothly and efficiently. - Make sure PT areas, including treatment area and staff area are cleaned daily according to established policies and procedures. - Responsible for management of clinic supplies by monitoring inventory levels. Order necessary supplies to insure adequate inventory levels for provision of rehab services. - Responsible for supervision and maintenance and cleanliness of PT area (gym, office/ staff area, private rooms, restrooms etc). **Core Competencies:** - Adaptability: Maintaining effectiveness in varying environments, tasks, responsibilities or people. - Attention to Detail: Commitment to total task completion - Communication: The ability to give and receive verbal, non-verbal and written information in a diverse environment to a variety a people (co-workers, patients, physicians, etc.) - Customer Service: Showing sensitivity to the needs and feeling of internal and external customers. - Interpersonal skills: Able to get along with patients and co-workers and show compassion toward others **Minimum Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or related field or previous work experience **Physical Demands** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers to handle or feel, as well as sit and work on a computer. Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, standing, pushing and pulling are also physical activities that may be required frequently when working with patients. Medium work required.
