Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human sciences or social service field. Relevant experience providing direct services to adults with mental health, substance use, and complex medical conditions may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of Social Security benefits and reporting requirements.
  • Effective advocacy, organization, and communication skills (including de-escalation and conflict resolution).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and data entry skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and adherence to HIPAA and agency policies regarding PHI.
  • Must be willing to travel around SOMA and Tenderloin neighborhood to support clients.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Job Duties:

  • Recruit, hire, evaluate, train and terminate program staff in accordance with the job description, the Conard House Personnel Manual, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Conduct staff performance discussion at the end of introductory period and annually.
  • Review and update program staff job descriptions.
  • Ensure that day-to-day program services are delivered in adherence to state and federal regulations, and Conard House policies, procedures, contractual agreements and professional standards.
  • Develop, expand, and refine procedures and services that are relevant to the needs of clients to ensure that Money Management/Case Management services are of the highest quality.
  • Monitor staff leave accrual balances and approve staff request for leave based on program coverage.
  • Supervise program operations and conduct supervision meetings for staff weekly or as needed.
  • Preparing statistical reports, data collection, and data entry for multiple contracts. Ensure all contract goals and objectives are met. Attend collaborative meetings with contracting agencies as necessary.
  • Participate in Program site review for multiple contracts and ensure all contract objectives are met.
  • Ensure disaster/safety manual and issues of safety are discussed regularly at staff
  • meetings.
  • Attend weekly supervision meetings, scheduled staff meetings, and attend agency meetings/trainings as required. Attend outside trainings as requested or assigned.
  • Stay informed about social issues and political climate surrounding homelessness, mental health, and substance.
  • Help develop and maintain liaisons with homeless advocacy groups, community organizations, and other service providers.
  • Maintain contact with Social Security personnel to ensure efficient and timely processing of paperwork.
  • Follow agency/HIPAA guidelines for confidentiality and release of information. Ensure files and confidential records are appropriately secured.
  • Provide crisis support to Case Managers. Liaise with Police Department and Psychiatric Emergency Services to ensure client and staff safety and appropriate level of care.
  • Familiarize with agency and program health and safety procedures, review policies and manuals, and attend relevant trainings.
  • Ensure interactions with clients and staff demonstrate respect for cultural, racial, ethnic, and gender differences.
  • Assist in managing and utilizing TrueLink financial services to support clients' money management needs.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
