Job Summary:
Primary duties of the Registered Radiology Assistant (RA/RPA) consist of various procedures under the direct supervision of the attending Radiologist. The RA will assist and allow for the team to work more effectively and efficiently in the hospital and/or outpatient clinical radiology environment. The RA must also be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the radiology field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Pay and Benefits:
Pay: $61.47 - $83.94 per hour based on relevant experience, skills, and abilities.
Location: This role will provide care across our outpatient clinics and inpatient partners
Schedule: 1.0 FTE - Monday - Friday

Essential Job Functions:
*
Performs and monitors fluoroscopic (i.e. Upper GI, esophogram, VCUG, etc.), and other examinations/procedures/responsibilities within the RA/RPA scope of practice as allowed by licensure.
*
Places nasoenteric and oroenteric feeding tubes.
*
Assists Radiologist with invasive procedures.
*
Injects agents that facilitate and/or enable diagnostic imaging.
*
Communicates initial observations of images to a Radiologist.
*
Assists in workflow of patients and provides input to determine which study is appropriate for patients.
*
Works closely with technologists/staff to perform studies with conscious effort to minimize radiation dose.
*
Maintains patient confidentiality.
*
Check work email daily.
*
Performs related work, as required.
Qualifications:
Education/Work Experience
*
Bachelor’s Degree required/Master’s Degree preferred
*
Successful completion of an ARRT accredited program
*
Knowledge of professional clinical theory, practices, and regulations to give and evaluate patient care
*
Previous experience in radiological sciences
*
Current BLS certification required
Job Knowledge/Skills
*
Knowledge of how to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
*
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment
*
Ability to manage multiple tasks and carry out instructions effectively
*
Interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures
*
Must function effectively as a team member and/or leader
*
Able to work in stressful emergency situations

Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally, and establish/maintain effective working relationships with other medical facilities, patients, medical staff, and hospital/clinic personnel

Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills
Physical Requirements
Work is classified as moderate in physical requirements. Must be able to assist in supporting patients of varying weight. Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time. Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Also requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment as necessary.
Mental Requirements
Work requires high attention to detail and the ability to handle mentally stressful situations. The ability to maintain high level of sensitivity towards confidential information is also required.
Working/Environmental Conditions
Work environment consists of normal office or administrative working conditions. There may be exposure to communicable diseases. There will be limited exposure to ionizing radiation.
