About the Company:

Our client, a leading general contractor in the Northern NJ area, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee a high-profile ground-up construction project in partnership with the Port Authority. This role requires a proven leader with a track record of managing projects from concept through completion, ensuring safety, quality, and budget alignment.

Position Overview:

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing all phases of ground-up construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will bring both vertical construction expertise and some civil experience, ensuring seamless execution of complex projects in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage full lifecycle of large-scale ground-up construction projects
• Serve as primary liaison with the Port Authority, clients, consultants, and stakeholders
• Develop and oversee project budgets, cost controls, and schedules to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
• Manage and mentor project teams, including superintendents, engineers, and subcontractors
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards, codes, and Port Authority regulations
• Oversee site logistics, subcontractor performance, and procurement processes
• Provide regular progress updates and reporting to executive leadership and stakeholders

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
• 10+ years of progressive construction management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior PM role
• Proven track record in ground-up construction, with civil experience strongly preferred
• Experience managing public agency or Port Authority projects a plus
• Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
