Technical Writer
Location: Erie PA
Type: Contract To Hire
Rate Range: $35/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
This role will be responsible for gathering and reviewing engineering documents and information for the development of Service information. This will be a self-driven role working directly with engineering. The candidate should be comfortable working with and talking to with engineering in a professional manner. Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
Candidates should be familiar enough with service information to know what information is needed to support different types of manuals. The role will require creating documents to support Off Highway Vehicle service and operational information.
Responsibilities
• Explain technical ideas in simple language
• Meet with customer representatives to establish technical specifications
• Create user documentation for locomotive parts
• Ability to look at engineering documentation and decide what is and is not relevant for a
service type manual.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in the locomotive, automotive, mining vehicles (or similar) aerospace, med device
industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand highly technical information
• Understand engineering drawings
• AutoCAD understanding
• FrameMaker for writing tool is a plus but other tools are ok
Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
