Job Title: Tool & Die Maker

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour (+ benefits)

Location: Lake Zurich, IL (onsite)

An immediate opportunity is available for a Tool and Die Maker at the Lake Zurich, IL facility. This is a 1st shift position, Monday-Friday . The role involves ensuring proper die operation in the production area, meeting or exceeding customer expectations through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for the Production Department.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative die maintenance in a timely manner.
• Diagnose and complete repairs on existing dies.
• Manufacture new parts, grind, mill, lathe, and interpret work orders and die repair sheets.
• Follow all safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Understand and adhere to Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Complete all required documentation accurately.
• Assist other workers with tasks as needed.
• Insert and remove molds and/or dies.
• Prepare molds and trim dies.
• Inspect and clean molds before returning them to storage racks.
• Perform tool changes and final adjustments.
• Conduct basic and intermediate troubleshooting and adjustments to resolve processing issues.
• Fabricate minor parts as needed.
• Carry out intermediate maintenance and repair on tooling.
• Support plant food safety initiatives by completing required training and implementing best practices.
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures.
• Actively participate in the company’s behavior-based safety process.

Job Qualifications:

• Completion of a four-year Tool and Die Apprenticeship .
• Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools, powered tools, automated tools, and precision tools.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly .
• High attention to detail and strong visual acuity.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
• Exposure to mechanical moving parts, as well as oily, dusty, and dirty environments.
• Extreme heat conditions may be present during summer months.
