**Job Title: Welder** **Job Description** As a Welder, you will be responsible for the general fabrication of mechanical parts using pneumatic or electric hand tools. You will perform tasks such as deburring or surface preparation of metal parts, while following both written and verbal work instructions. You must interface with the enterprise timekeeping system and machine controls, and use basic machine shop measuring equipment such as dial calipers, tape measures, and protractors. **Responsibilities** + Perform general fabrication of mechanical parts. + Use pneumatic or electric hand tools for deburring and surface preparation of metal parts. + Follow both written and verbal work instructions. + Interface with enterprise timekeeping system and machine controls. + Use and read basic machine shop measuring equipment, including dial calipers, tape measures, and protractors. **Essential Skills** + Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding. + Familiarity with all welding shop power tools. + Basic ability to read welding symbols and prints. + Experience in fabrication and deburring tasks. + Ability to grind metal as part of prep work or deburring. + Understanding of basic weld symbols and blueprints. + Qualification in flat (1F and 1G) and horizontal (2F and 2G) welding positions. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 3 years of experience in a fabrication environment. + Formal training in GMAW with understanding of FCAW. + Ability to read a tape measure and accurately mark or scribe within 1/16" (.062"). + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and over 50 lbs. with assistance. + Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, push, pull, grasp, and sit or stand for long periods. **Why Work Here** You will have the opportunity to cross-train into different departments and learn a valuable trade. Although this position is contractual, exceptional performance may lead to a direct hire. **Work Environment** Work is performed in a standard manufacturing environment, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. You will be subject to hazards such as electrical current, moving mechanical parts, chips, dust, exposure to chemicals, debris, and intense heat. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6 AM to 3 PM, with an average of 5-8 hours of overtime per week. Candidates must be willing to work overtime and weekends. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes/boots, work jeans/pants, and a plain T-shirt. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
