Assistant Actuary - P&C | Leading West Coast Insurer
A premier West Coast-based insurance company is seeking a driven Assistant Actuary to support its Property & Casualty actuarial team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to pricing, reserving, and redictive modeling across diverse P&C lines - both personal & commercial - while working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in pricing and reserving for personal and commercial P&C lines
Analyze claims and underwriting data to identify trends and support business decisions
Develop and maintain actuarial models for rate filings and loss projections
Collaborate with underwriting, product, and finance teams to support strategic initiatives
Prepare actuarial reports and regulatory filings
Ideal Candidate:
~ Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
~2-7 years of actuarial experience in P&C insurance
~ Minimum of 2 actuarial exams passed (CAS track)
~ Proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL, R, Python, or actuarial software (e.g., Emblem, Radar) is a plus
~ Strong analytical and communication skills
