Data Analyst (SQL/Data Warehousing)

Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications client, is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Data Analyst to support its growing data analytics initiatives. This role is ideal for a data-savvy professional who enjoys turning complex datasets into actionable insights, supporting strategic decision-making across business units.

Experience of the right candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in a data analyst or similar data-focused role
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for dashboards and reporting
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and present complex data sets
  • Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication abilities

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in ETL processes and scripting with Python or R
  • Experience working in large enterprise or telecommunications environments
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance best practices

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Collect, extract, and analyze structured and unstructured data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and web data
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and automation scripts to support streamlined workflows
  • Create scheduled and ad hoc dashboards and reports to drive business operations
  • Validate and troubleshoot data accuracy, completeness, and quality across systems
  • Collaborate with business units to understand data needs and translate them into meaningful insights
  • Document data requirements, processes, and logic to ensure repeatability and transparency
  • Provide timely, data-driven responses to internal inquiries and ad hoc stakeholder requests
  • Support the ongoing evolution of data governance, security, and compliance initiatives
